We launch our new season with a look at technology and the way it is impacting on the world of fitness.

Featuring expert guests and fitness tech users this event will examine the way in which current technology is utilised and what the future holds.

Tech in Management…

David Monkhouse

David is a popular industry figure and is Co-owner and Director at Leisure-net Solutions, a company which brings together sector insight and customer experience measurement along with much more. Leisure-net also manage the Sport England National Benchmarking Services contract.

David will discuss the future of the customer journey and how we can embrace technology whilst maintaining some of the key soft skills that have served our industry so well in the past.

Ian Mullane

In 2008, after eighteen years working for some of the biggest names in Fintech such as Thomson Financial and SS&C, Ian finished corporate life as Chief Operating Officer of Sungard's Asia Pacific business. Since then he has established and grown a number of businesses including Locowise.com and Vanda.fit.

Ian’s current mission is to help health and fitness businesses improve the 50% annual member attrition rate the industry suffers from through the use of our Keepme AI-powered membership retention tool.

Along with Dave Monkhouse and Albino Ferro, I an will discuss the ways in which managers can embrace technology to help their businesses become more efficient and effective.

Albino Ferro

The ever-popular Albino (Albi) from Harlands will join us to contribute to the management discussion with David and Ian.

Albi is a well-practiced professional who has helped clients increase their income, add value & become more efficient through improved membership management, embracing technology and focusing on the customer.

Tech in Fitness…

Phillip Walker

Phillip is a Key Account Manager for Firstbeat Technologies.

Firstbeat are well known in the Elite Sports industry with current clients such as, Manchester City, Manchester Utd, Arsenal FC and Tottenham FC and are now using the same technology to impact everyone by transforming HRV (Heart Rate Variability) in to personalised feedback on stress, exercise, activity, recovery and rest levels. Its our mission to help clients make a huge impact in how they feel.

Phil Horton

Phil is Country Director with miha bodytec EMS and prior to bringing the latest in exercise technology to the UK, Phil worked for UK Active and The Spire Health Group at St George’s Park.

There he headed up a team of health and sports medicine professionals at The FA's NationalFootball Centre. Delivering Sport Science, Sport Medicine, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation and Wellbeing services to Elite Sport, Corporate, Schools and the general public.

Phil will sit alongside Phillip to discuss the ways in which technology is likely to become more firmly established in gyms and studios.

Looking to the Future…

Joseph Robinson

Joe is an experienced Creative Director with experience in creative roles in the retail and fitness sectors. Now a co-Director at Flareform, Joe will talk about the future in terms of fitness environments.

What might the studio and gym of the future look like? What kind of atmosphere will we be able to create both inside and out?

Jack Connors

Jack is Innovation Programme Manager at UK Active, working with diverse organisations to get more people active through technology. Ranging from multinational corporates, to governmental departments and national governing bodies.

As part of his role Jack also heads the 'ActiveLab Accelerator Programme - the global launchpad for innovation in physical activity. Scaling innovative FitTech and SportTech businesses in the UK and beyond to get more people, more active, more often.

Jack will sit alongside Joe to talk about the future of tech in our industry.
